With the next episode of Ducati World Première 2025, Ducati inaugurates a new era of its twin-cylinder motorcycles, showcasing the new Panigale and Streetfighter V2 for the year 2025. These are the first models in the Italian manufacturer’s range powered by a completely new V2 engine.

The new Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2 are the lightest in history. These are two motorcycles with exceptionally high performance both on the track and on the road, thanks to Ducati’s sporty DNA and a completely innovative design approach focused primarily on the engine. This has created a completely new benchmark for size, weight, and compactness among Ducati’s twin-cylinder motorcycles.

Panigale V2

PANIGALE_V2

Ducati Panigale V2 marks a groundbreaking change in the history of twin-cylinder sport motorcycles from Borgo Panigale, as it has been designed from a completely blank sheet of paper for the first time. It is a motorcycle that pays homage to the tradition of iconic models such as the 748, 848, and 959, drawing its sporty character from them. At the same time, it has been created to be easy and enjoyable to ride for everyday use. The new Panigale is a completely redesigned motorcycle that, thanks to the new Ducati 90° V2 engine and monocoque frame weighing only 4 kg, becomes the lightest Panigale in history.

PANIGALE_V2

Key features of the new Panigale V2 for 2025 include lightweight construction, intuitive riding, an attractive power delivery curve, as well as a style and technical equipment worthy of a true Ducati.

The design of the Panigale V2 is, of course, inspired by its bigger brother with the V4 engine. Once again, a sporty motorcycle has been created with a decisive yet elegant character, featuring characteristic aggressive and unconventional lines typical of Ducati that are not only beautiful but also serve important aerodynamic functions.

The front of the motorcycle is a clear reference to the new Panigale V4. The Full-LED headlight features DRL lights, giving it the same aggressive look. The design of the fuel tank has been analyzed for size and primarily for its shape to assist the rider during sporty riding. In this element, there is also visible inspiration from the Panigale V4, however, the tank has been adapted to the new engine and ergonomically optimized to reduce wrist strain while maintaining excellent front feel when cornering.

The rear also features styling inspired by the Panigale V4 and smoothly connects with the tank, creating a monolithic effect clearly inspired by the 916 model. The fully LED taillight is split into two parts. The exhaust, which ends in two silencers located under the seat, harkens back to the racing tradition of the Panigale and emphasizes the sporty soul of the motorcycle. The design of the new spoked wheels is a modern reinterpretation of the iconic look of Marchesini's three-spoke wheels. The black color creates a contrasting effect with Ducati red.

During intensive development tests taking place on tracks, the new Panigale V2 delivered performance in line with expectations. This is thanks to a weight reduction of 15 kg, a lightweight modern chassis, improved ergonomics, a powerful engine, and ease of handling. On the new Panigale V2, the rider feels at ease from the first corner. Riding requires less physical effort, making it easier on the track to reach and maintain the limit throughout the entire session.

On public roads, the new Panigale V2 turns out to be the easiest and most enjoyable Ducati sport motorcycle in history. Thanks to the less taxing riding position, the rider can fully enjoy the light handling, while the new V2 engine is capable of providing wonderful emotions between corners.

Streetfighter V2

STREETFIGHTER_V2S

Ducati used the lightest Panigale to also create the lightest Streetfighter. This exciting naked bike has been designed to generate fun both on the road and on the track. The designers used an 890 cm3 engine, the Panigale V2 chassis, a wider and higher handlebar, and eliminated the front fairing, thus increasing the thrill of riding.

STREETFIGHTER_V2S

With a chassis based on a very lightweight monocoque frame and the new 90° V2 engine, it is the lightest Streetfighter in Ducati's history (-18 kg compared to the previous model). The motorcycle is agile yet stable at high speeds when riding on the track, but significantly more enjoyable on the road and for everyday use. More intuitive to handle, lively, and exciting due to the lightness and torque of the V2 engine – the new Streetfighter is truer than ever to the spirit of the original.

STREETFIGHTER_V2S

The design of the new V2 confirms typical stylistic features of the Streetfighter family through the absence of a front fairing and primarily by using the chassis from the sport model. The sharp appearance of the front part of the motorcycle emphasizes the characteristic shape of the Full-LED headlight equipped with DRL. The fuel tank, tail, and lightweight alloy rims are the same as those in the Panigale V2. Using these solutions enhances the sporty spirit while still maintaining references to Ducati's racing tradition.

New V2 Engine

new V2 90° engine from Ducati

The Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2 are equipped with a new 90° V2 engine with a displacement of 890 cm3 and a power of 120 HP, with variable valve timing and Euro5+ homologation. Its weight is only 54.5 kg (-9.4 kg compared to the Superquadro engine it replaces), making it the lightest twin-cylinder engine ever produced by Ducati. The torque curve, with 70% of the maximum value available at 3000 RPM, ensures an exhilarating ride. For track use, a racing exhaust can be mounted, which increases maximum power to 126 HP while reducing weight by 4.5 kg.

Ducati_Panigale

All of this makes both the Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2 enjoyable and precise motorcycles for sporty riding, especially thanks to weights of 176 and 175 kg respectively (ready to ride, without fuel). These figures, combined with the power of 120 HP, define a power-to-weight ratio of 0.68 HP/kg.

Both models have three power modes:

  • High,
  • Medium, and
  • Low,

which limits power to 95 HP. Additionally, it should be noted that both the Panigale and Streetfighter are available in a 35 kW version for A2 license holders.

Benchmark Chassis and Electronics

The new V2 frame is a lightweight and effective monocoque that uses the engine as a structural element. The double-sided swingarm is inspired by the Hollow Symmetrical Swingarm design from the Panigale V4 and provides the same benefits in terms of stability during corner exits and feel while riding on the track, where the rider can fully exploit the capabilities of modern slick tires. The suspension is fully adjustable to allow the rider to personalize settings. The Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2 are equipped with Marzocchi forks and Kayaba dampers, while the V2 S versions feature an Öhlins suspension set and a lithium-ion battery.

PANIGALE_V2S

To maintain stability during cornering and at higher speeds, the Streetfighter V2 has a swingarm that is 30 mm longer than that of the Panigale V2 and comes standard with a Sachs steering damper. The new cast wheels are equipped with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires sized 120/70 at the front and 190/55 at the rear, enhancing the sporty characteristics of both models. The front braking system Brembo consists of two 320 mm diameter discs and monobloc M50 calipers, incredibly effective for track use while offering friendly modulation on public roads.

The Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2 are equipped with a six-axis IMU inertial platform, supporting a complete and effective electronics package that enhances safety on the road and performance on the track. The electronics package includes:

  • cornering sport ABS with slide-by-brake functionality,
  • Ducati Traction Control,
  • Ducati Wheelie Control,
  • Engine Brake Control, and the new Ducati Quick Shift 2.0 – the same system used in the new Panigale V4 and standard equipment in both models. The S versions are also standardly equipped with Ducati Power Launch and Pit Limiter.

The rider can instantly alter the motorcycle's behavior by selecting one of four available riding modes – Race, Sport, Road, and Wet, which offer preset intervention levels that can be modified by the user. In this way, with a single press of a button, it is possible to tailor the Panigale and Streetfighter V2 to the rider’s preferences and different riding situations.

The new 5-inch TFT display features an interface derived from the new Panigale V4. Three different views (Road, Road Pro, and Track) have been designed to allow the rider to fully concentrate on riding, highlighting the most relevant information. The interface integrates information to improve data readability. For example, the tachometer also acts as a gear change indicator, lighting up green at the ideal RPM for shifting up and red when too high RPMs are reached.

Accessories

A range of accessories enhancing performance on the track or giving them more character is available for the new motorcycles. The dedicated track package for the Panigale includes a racing exhaust, Öhlins steering damper, adjustable footpegs, lowered handlebar, clutch cover, and mirror and license plate removal caps.

The automatic lap timer system, utilizing Track Infomode, displays lap times, sector times, and real-time performance improvements for the rider. Those who want to fully enjoy the new V2 on the road can install cruise control, Turn-by-turn navigation, a USB socket for smartphone charging, or TPMS tire pressure sensors. All accessories are available in the new Ducati configurator.

The new Panigale in V2 and V2 S versions will be available at Ducati dealerships at the end of January 2025, exclusively in Ducati Red coloring. Meanwhile, the new Streetfighter V2 will be available from the end of March 2025. Both models will be offered in a two-seat configuration, while the V2 S versions will be available in a single-seat configuration with an additional passenger seat offered as an accessory. These models can also be ordered in a 35 kW version for riders with an A2 driver's license.
