Completely new twin-cylinder engine

The latest Multistrada has been designed around the V2 twin-cylinder engine. Thanks to a design inspired by the pursuit of maximum lightness, the 2025 Multistrada weighs 18 kg less than the previous model – with a weight of 199 kg ready to ride without fuel, making it the lightest in its category.

The weight reduction positively impacts maneuverability at rest and at low speeds, even when fully loaded. Its lightness, combined with the wide power delivery range from the variable valve timing twin-cylinder engine, exemplary electronics package, and careful ergonomic and aerodynamic development, means that the riding pleasure, fuel consumption, performance, and handling of the new Multistrada V2 transform every trip into an unforgettable experience.

Stylistic concepts of the new Multistrada V2

The design of the new V2 draws inspiration from stylistic concepts that created the history of the Multistrada family – sporty lines, a sleek tail, and the distinctive "beak." Like all motorcycles from Borgo Panigale, the Multistrada V2 combines design and functionality. The designers at Centro Stile Ducati outlined the lines in close collaboration with engineers to integrate aerodynamic solutions to improve thermal comfort and weather protection.

The adjustable front windshield and additional deflectors integrated with the fairing line have been redesigned thanks to carefully conducted aerodynamic research. To ensure thermal comfort, similar to the Multistrada V4, side air channels integrated into the motorcycle's structure have been introduced to help direct fresh air onto the rider's legs.

Integrated lights with DRL

The new headlights and daytime running lights (DRL) are inspired by the latest generation of Panigale and Multistrada V4. Such inspiration has helped redefine the compact and aggressive look of the motorcycle's front end. The shorter front "beak" is well integrated with the windshield, creating harmonious shapes. The turn signals are placed in the side fairings to ensure optimal visibility and create a gap between them and the fairing, allowing fresh air to flow towards the rider.

Even more comfortable for rider and passenger

The ergonomics of the Multistrada V2 have been completely reworked with great attention given to riding comfort. The seating has been redesigned, and the space for the passenger has been increased compared to the previous model, thanks to new mounting points for the central and side cases.

Multiple seat height options

To allow the rider to safely rest their feet on the ground, the new Multistrada V2 is equipped with a seat that can be adjusted in two positions – with a height of 850 or 830 mm. Additionally, the Ducati Performance catalog offers a raised seat as an accessory with a height of 870 mm and a lowered one at 810 mm. In the V2 S version, thanks to the DSS (Ducati Skyhook Suspension) semi-active suspension and the preload spring adjustment range, the seat height can be lowered to 790 mm.

890 cm3 V-twin engine

The new Multistrada V2 is equipped with a new Ducati V2 engine, a 90° V-twin with a displacement of 890 cm3 featuring IVT (variable valve timing). This new unit is extremely compact and lightweight – weighing only 54.9 kg, contributing significantly to the motorcycle’s weight reduction. In this configuration, it delivers a maximum of 115 HP at 10,750 rpm and 92 Nm of torque at 8,250 rpm. With variable valve timing, the V2 engine optimizes performance, power, and fuel consumption.

Torque always at hand

Power at high revs is coupled with a steady torque at low and mid-range RPMs. Over 70% of maximum torque is available at just 3,500 rpm, and within the range of 3,500 to 11,000 rpm, this value never drops below 75%. The unit provides very smooth power delivery with minimal throttle opening, which is also directly influenced by the use of a larger flywheel.

Redesigned gearbox

The new Multistrada V2 features specially designed gearbox ratios. The first and second gears are shorter to improve usability at low speeds and acceleration under full load. The motorcycle is equipped with the Ducati Quick Shift 2.0 system, which enables faster gear shifts without using the clutch.

New frame and swingarm

To enhance comfort and riding pleasure on any route, the new Multistrada V2 is equipped with a completely redesigned main frame, rear subframe, and swingarm, created with the same philosophy as the Multistrada V4. The frame is an aluminum monocoque that uses the engine as a structural element, while the rear subframe is a steel trellis. The swingarm is made from cast aluminum. All these changes, combined with the new V2 engine, allow the Multistrada to achieve an exceptionally low weight – only 199 kg, ready to ride without fuel for the V2 version, and 202 kg for the V2 S version, equipped with semi-active suspension.

Through a complete redesign and the use of a monocoque frame, Ducati's engineers have managed to create a slim motorcycle that makes it easier to put feet on the ground. Additionally, the contact area of the knees and inner thighs with the motorcycle surfaces has been improved, enhancing riding pleasure and the feeling of control at high speeds. Thanks to the new ergonomics, the Multistrada V2 2025 requires less effort when changing direction and guarantees more neutral behavior when entering and negotiating corners.

Suspension of the new Multistrada V2

Ducati is equipped with a 45 mm diameter upside-down fork from Marzocchi and a Sachs shock absorber – both fully adjustable. The Multistrada V2 S boasts semi-active suspension with Ducati Skyhook Suspension electronic control, providing comfort, safety, and performance through new electronic strategies that limit diving during braking (anti-dive) and the tendency to "squat" while accelerating (anti-squat), ensuring optimal riding precision.

The spring preload adjustment function allows the rear suspension to be lowered to its minimum with the push of a button, facilitating foot contact with the ground, especially when fully loaded or with a passenger. Similar to the new Multistrada V4, suspension modes can be selected independently from the riding modes.

Wheels and brakes

Both versions of the Multistrada V2 are equipped with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels fitted with Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tires. The 170 mm suspension travel is sufficient to ensure versatility. The Brembo braking system, providing top performance in any situation, features dual front discs measuring 320 mm in diameter and a single 265 mm rear disc.

Electronics

The new Multistrada V2 offers a complete electronics package managed through redesigned controls on the handlebars and a new, 5-inch color TFT display, with a completely renewed interface. Five available riding modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, Enduro, and Wet) allow for customization of the Multistrada V2 for any situation. The riding modes set the Cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), and Engine Brake Control (EBC) to pre-defined levels that can be modified by the rider.

Three Infomodes (Road, Road Pro, and Rally) allow users to fully utilize the display's capabilities, changing the information shown and offering various functions to provide the rider with the best riding experience in any situation.

Standard equipment

The Ducati Multistrada V2 comes standard with cruise control, a USB port, Ducati Brake Light EVO (which triggers emergency flashing of the rear light during sudden braking), as well as the V2 S, the Ducati multimedia system with turn-by-turn navigation activation capability. The new Coming Home feature keeps the low beams active after switching off the ignition to illuminate the area in front of the motorcycle and make it easier to enter the home.

Like all Multistradas, the new V2 has been designed to allow Ducatisti to travel with maximum peace of mind, thanks to exemplary service intervals (valve clearance checks every 30,000 km) and the 4Ever Ducati programs (factory four-year warranty with no mileage limit) and the Ducati Assistance Program. All these conveniences are offered by a network of over 800 official Ducati dealers in more than 90 countries worldwide.
